For the Guys

For guys hitting that time of life where you (or the wife) have decided that you’re done having kids and need to examine your options, beware.  I know some of my high school buddies have already gone down the path of the snip-snip surgery followed by a few days (weeks?) of holding various bags of frozen peas or frozen corn over their nether regions.

For those of you who haven’t though, do some research.

For those of you who have already done this, it might be worth finding out if there are options to mitigate the risks being discovered.

The study is new, and there isn’t any reference to other extant supporting research. I personally have always had reservations about this procedure, and am not very surprised to hear that there may be some unforeseen risks and complications.

But for that matter, my rule of thumb is that history will show that much of what we’ve been told are routine procedures/treatments/medications without any side effects are, in reality, a lot more complicated. There are a lot of procedures that people must have done in order to alleviate specific issues/problems/etc. But “convenience” procedures just don’t sit well with me. God designed us a certain way, and I figure when we mess with that, there are consequences.
