It rained yesterday. And today.
For the first time since we moved here on July 4th, it rained. It reminds me just how much I love the rain. The dark grey bulging clouds. The scent of desert dust mixed with ocean salt peculiar to the coast. What an amazing miracle rain is. What an ingenious method of getting water from one place to another.
I marvel that I could have lived so long in the desert, given my huge love of rain and the wonderful morning-chill that often accompanies it. God may take me many places, but I truly pray it’s never back to the parched-skin earth of the desert. I’ve done me time.
Let it rain.
